MEDICAL DOCUMENTATION AND SECRETARIAL

The purpose of the Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program To be employed in the public and private fields of the health sector; Being able to meet the needs of a health institution, able to carry out the communication and correspondence services required by the medical affairs and procedures on the basis of the continuity of the health service delivery, make appointment services and patient admission procedures, keep the medical and administrative records of the patient, convert the medical data recorded in electronic and/or audio media into medical documents, file the patient files and other documents and reports deemed necessary, file, archive and submit the results of the patient files and other documents and reports deemed necessary, carry out the operations of filing, archiving and presenting the results of the patient files, archiving and presenting to the service in accordance with the determined classification and coding systems, performing the clinical coding and coding operations of the medical system, compiling the clinical management with the determined statistical management systems. Our mission is to train Medical Secretaries who are capable of eliminating the deficiencies in the patient files, performing the discharge and transfer procedures of the patient, and providing inter-institutional communication.

Those who have completed the Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM; They can transfer vertically to the Health Institutions Management, Health Administration undergraduate program. Graduates of the Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program of the Vocational School of Health Services start to work as administrative officers in hospitals and similar institutions. According to their professional success and experience, they can be promoted to office chief (Administrative and Technical Affairs, Library and Documentation works, etc.). Those who want to work as government personnel can be appointed as Medical Secretary if they enter KPSS and get the required score.
