COACHING TRAINING

The overarching objective of the Coaching Education Programme is to cultivate contemporary coaches who are endowed with the requisite knowledge, skills and attitudes that can be applied in the pertinent domain of the Sports Coaching profession. These coaches are expected to have internalised ethical values, to be cognisant of the prevailing circumstances in the global sports arena, and to have embraced the significance of lifelong learning.

Graduates of the Department of Coaching are awarded a third-level coaching certificate from the federation to which the sports branch they choose as a speciality branch is affiliated. This certification enables them to pursue a career as a coach in their chosen speciality branch. In addition, students who successfully obtain a pedagogical formation certificate are eligible to pursue employment as physical education and sports teachers in schools that are affiliated with the Ministry of Education. Furthermore, these graduates have the option to pursue advanced education at the master's and doctoral levels in related fields of sports sciences. They also have the potential to become academic staff members at universities, provided they meet the stipulated criteria.
