AUTOPSY ASSISTANT TRAINING

The purpose of the Autopsy Assistant Program is to train technicians who know all the procedures before, during and after the autopsy, have the knowledge / skills to apply the necessary procedures, know the quality control and assurance of the autopsy units, and work directly with the Forensic Medicine Specialist in the forensic departments after the graduation. The aim of the course is to educate the personnel who can perform the procedures on the bodies and tissues in the best way after the autopsy.

It is common to encounter dozens of cases where forensic cases take place evert day and most of them require autopsy. Qualified and tranied personnel work against this workload in the autopsy units affiliated to Forensic Medicine Institue. There is always a need for autopsy assistantship who work in various places such as writing forensic case reports, performing autopsies and making necessary preparations before and after the autopsy.

Graduates of the department can work in Forensic Medicine Departments, Forensic Medicine Institutes, Forensic Medicine Institution and related group presidencies, branch offices and courthouses as autopsy aids
