English/Turkish Proficiency Exam and Exemption Procedures of International Students


Exemption from English Preparatory Class: 

 Students are required to get min. 70 out of 100 
from English Proficiency Exam or present a valid language certificate, for example, min. 60 score from Foreign Language Exam (YDS) or min. 72 score from TOEFL IBT. Students who have completed their last three years of education at the secondary education institutions providing education in the English language and locating a country where English is spoken as a mother tongue can be exempt from English preparatory class. Exemption from Turkish Preparatory Class:

 Students are required to have a Turkish High 
Diploma or TÖMER B1 or C1 level certificate. Students who have a B1 level certificate can take department courses, provided that they attend a Turkish course. These students must certify that they have increased the Turkish proficiency level (C1-C2) up to the beginning of the third academic year at the latest. Otherwise, they cannot continue their education and training in the program until they have increased their Turkish proficiency level (C1-C2).
